Holyrood Mennonite Church organized a candlelight Prayer Walk for Peace on Nov 11th, 2009, inviting local Mennonite and other churches, the Quakers, Mennonite Central Committee and Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers. We had over 130 people turn out! Great site!

A report in the Edmonton Sun said, "they hoped to spread a message that peaceful resolutions should triumph over violent, bloody wars."

Organizer Scott Key said, ""This is not a demonstration. It is an opportunity for us to come together and pray for peace in the world. I would hope there wouldn't be a backlash. Our goal is simply to express (that) we desire peace and desire our government to seek alternative ways of creating peace in the world."
